CONTINUATION OF THE MYSTERIES OF THE WAR OF GOG AND MAGOG.

In the previous weeks, we have studied about the:

~ The main scriptures about the two wars.

~ The difficulty in understanding these two wars.

~ The differences of the leaders of these two wars.

TOPIC OF THE DAY:

THE DIFFERENCES OF THE LEADERS OF THESE WARS.

It is very clear that the leader of the war of Gog and Magog and that of Armageddon are not the same person.

This will not be difficult to see if one will look at 4 of the things the scriptures reveal about them:

• Their Authority.
• Their territories.
• Their names.
• Their end.

¶ Their Authority.

~ GOG

What the Bible says, shows that Gog will have authority only over some places, while the antichrist will have a worldwide authority. Gog. Eze. 38:3-6, 15-16.

~ THE BEAST ( ANTICHRIST) Rev. 13:1,3,8.

The book of Ezekiel says that Gog will come from the north and will be followed and supported by some specific people Eze. 38:3-6, while the book of Revelation says that the beast (antichrist) will come from the sea (world) and “all the world” will wonder him and worship him. Rev. 19:3,8.

¶ Their Territories. Eze. 39:1-2.

As it could be seen in the passage, Gog who will lead the war of Gog and Magog, is going to come from a location called” the North”. This shows that his authority will not cover the whole world. In fact, some nations will question him. Eze. 38:13.

While the book of Ezekiel says that Gog who will lead the war of Gog and Magog will come against Israel from a location called “the North”, other scriptures reveal that the antichrist that will lead the war of Armageddon, will start the war after he must have established himself as God, occupying the temple of Israel in Jerusalem. Dan.9:26-27; 2Thes. 2:3-9; Rev. 13:1-8, 11-17.

The same image referred to here is what Jesus talk about in Mt. 24:15-22.

That the activities of the antichrist will almost exterminate the whole world as we are told in verse 21 here is another proof that he will be a worldwide leader.

¶ Their Names.

The leader of the war of Magog is called ” Gog” while the leader of the war of Armageddon is called “The Beast”

~ Gog: Eze. 38:1-3.

~ The Beast.(Antichrist) Rev.13:1; Rev. 19:19-20.

This beast of Revelation who will lead the war of Armageddon is surely the small horn of the beasts of Daniel having all the characteristics of the four beasts of Daniel. Dan.7:1-8; Rev. 13:1-4.

Do you pay attention to the similarity between Dan.7:1-4 and Rev. 13:1-4 especially the mentioning of the sea and the names of 3 of the 4 beasts, though both of them did not give a name to the fourth beast?
These are enough to make us know that the two scriptures are talking about the same issue.

Surely, Gog of Eze. 38, 39 (unlike the antichrist of Rev.13, 16, 19is not going to be a worldwide leader, but most likely the leader of Russia.

The activities of the present leader of Russia in the middle east (especially Syria) and the various verbal attacks he gave to Israel, since he started the invasion of Ukraine (the president of which is an Israeli) on 24th February, 2022, is making a lot of people to speculate that he may be a good candidate for Gog.
