The past, present and future of Israel ought to be used by doubting Thomases to know if God really is God!

TOPIC OF THE DAY:

THE FUTURE OF ISRAEL AND REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY.

The study is in two parts:

• The problems still awaiting Israel.
• The final restoration of Israel.

The teaching of the day was about:

THE PROBLEMS STILL AWAITING ISRAEL

As we have seen under the last study, Israel has gone through a lot of problems in the past.

So many problems are still waiting for Israel.

These problems are meant to prepare her so that she will accept her Messiah when He appear the second time. Mt.24:15-22; Jer. 30:6-7.

Pastor Z A Ogunsanya explained some probables which was embedded in the book of Ezekiel 38 & 39 that requires deep meditation.

He said after the rapture of the saints, God will make the children of Israel pass through a period of great tribulation, so as to prepare them for the second coming of the Messiah and their final restoration.

We looked at the future problems under two headings:

✓ Alliance with the antichrist.

✓ The time of Jacob’s trouble.

✓ Alliance with the Antichrist.

As a nation, Israel did not accept Jesus as their Messiah. Instead they used the authority of the Roman government to kill Him. Jh.1:11; 5:43.

In fulfillment of this prophecy of Jesus, God will allow them to accept a deceiver as their Messiah.

This is the antichrist who will enter into a covenant of 7 years with them, pretending to be their Messiah. Dan. 9:27.

Initially, things will seem to be going on well with them: their temple will be re-built, and Judaism will come back in full force.

After a period of three and half years the antichrist will begin to show his true colour.

• He will exalt himself above all gods including Jehovah – the God of Israel. 2 Thes. 2:3-11.

• He will put an end to the worship of God in the temple. Dan. 9:27.

• He will cause his image to be placed in the temple and direct all worship to himself. Dan.11:31-37; Rev.13:11-18.

• As the children of Israel will rebel against this sinister arrangements, he (the antichrist) will raise a great persecution against them. Dan. 11:31-37; Rev. 12:1-17.

• The persecution will force them to once again run out of the promised land and be scattered to every of the earth. Mt. 24:15-22.

• This problem of the antichrist will last for the last three and half years of the great tribulation. Dan. 7:25; Rev. 11:2; 12:6.

Throughout this period, Israel will suffer untold hardship. Jer. 30:6.

✓ The Time Of Jacob’s Trouble.

This wrath of the antichrist with the wrath of God that must have been pouring upon the whole world from the beginning of the 7 years of the great tribulation period Rev. 6,7,8,9,12,16, will make things very hard for Israel. Ex. 20:33-38; Mt. 24:21-27.

This is why the time is called “the time of Jacob’s trouble” Jer. 30:6-7.

Moses had predicted what will happen to the children of Israel if they forsake God. Deut. 18:15-16.
The passage revealed how severe things will be happening to Israel during the period.

Though this terrible prediction had been partly fulfilled over the millenniums, it is during the great tribulation period it will have it’s full fulfillment.

Israel will smell pepper!

This will not destroy them as a nation but to prepare them to accept their Messiah at His second coming.

After they must have gone through the final fulfillment of this terrifying prediction, Jesus their Messiah will come back to fight for them, to rescue and to restore them. Jer.30:6-8; Rev. 1:7.

Thus ended the highly revealing teaching of the day.
